a few days ago, i watched a movie, taxi taxi. 

it is a singapore's local movie that has its story around an over qualified taxi driver.

he holds a Phd in microbiology, hmm or perhaps something else. 

some exotic sophisticated major. 

and, during its supposedly climax of the movie, he said,

"dreams are shattered and altered for a better future"

or something along that line. 

an altered dream.

an altered goal. 

he said, and we also always say,

"there must be a reason for everything to happen"

and, he and us must be referring to a good reason. 

for some, it is the glorious way of saying i give up on the idealism. 

for some, it is the cool way of saying i have grown out of those silly dreams. 

for some, it is the truth. 

they have their backs against the wall. 

and instead of they alter their goals. 

somehow, some force alter it for them. 

and true enough, for a good reason.
