1 hour and 45 mins of singing in a service.
it is close to those prayer meetings i attended years ago.
but the difference? it was all youngsters yesterday.

a full action packed service!
made us to witness gangnam style and harlem shake mixed into praising during the service.
the gangnam is still not certain as the others thought it was just other random dance.
but, i still believe they were gangnaming, just not in the right gangnam style.

of course, attending a church service is already quite an idea.
but, attending a youth service in indo where college-age is sort of the cap,
is just close to madness.

but thank God, the madness did not stop there.
the real show was in fact the service itself!

they sang their hearts out,
they did not care if they were out of tone.

they danced like crazy.
i was sort of reminded of narnians dancing around their bonfire.
i believe this what cs lewis saw when he wrote.

but after all that, the big question stays in my head.
why don't we do the same thing?

i tried to analyze it as usual. a few possible answers came up.
one, i might be too old for all those acts.
and when i say old, it is of course physically and spiritually.

two, those acts can't survive in a big city context.
ah yeah, the picture shows one of the churches in semarang.

and, if we take into consideration of the big titles in the big city,
it makes the acts really out of place.
imagine bankers, accountants, traders, artists, executives.
we are too cool for this, aren't we?

three, maybe i am just too shy.

and, it is not that the God that we are celebrating,
is different from theirs (the semarang church, narnians, and israelites)

it is ironic that we try to do the less mainstream things,
as we pursue to be that unique person.
yet, this act, the less mainstream thing, is what we are trying to avoid.
